Conical Brew In A Bag BIAB Bag for 40cm Diameter Pot

Very Strong BREW IN A BAG (BIAB) bag 62cm x 72cm (24in x 28in) for pot diameter up to 40cm

Re-usable many times. This strong bag is reinforced all around with polyester webbing. This is stitched into the mesh around the top, down the sides and along the bottom of the bag to give excellent lifting strength. The dimensions of the bag have been determined so that they fit a Buffalo 40 Litre boiler commonly used by home brewers in the UK. The bag would similarly fit other pots of suitable dimensions. The 40L Buffalo is 38cm diameter and 37cm deep. The bag itself is 62cm (40cm dia) wide and 72cm deep so there is plenty to fold over the top of the  pot, and down past the handles.  The biggest difference with this bag from the standard bag for 40cm pot is that the bag is conical, that is to say the lower half of it tapers to a point.  This gathers the grains over the centre of the pot when the bag is lifted out and helps to ensure the draining fluid is from the centre, down into the rest of the wort.

Two strong handles are provided for lifting the bag out of the wort. Ideally one would have a hook position above the boiler and hang the bag on that to allow it to drain.

The bag is strong enough to take a large grain bill when wet, which could easily be 15Kgs

I'm a long time home brewer and have developed this bag myself through experimentation over dozens of brews.   I use one of these bags myself for a wide range of beers.   The quality of the materials and of the stitching is superb.

Everything is done in the boiler. You mash and boil in the same vessel and there is no sparge. You mash in the pre-boil volume of water, allowing for evaporation and grain loss. When mashing is finished, you remove the bag, let it drain for a few minutes, then set it aside and bring the wort to a boil.
